Meet The TeamChanging Lives
Six passionate professionals who've ditched the traditional "sit and talk" therapy model to meet teens where they are - on the court, in movement, through genuine connection that actually works.
Making a Difference Every Day
One Team, One Mission
From left to right: Our entire crew, ready to transform how teens experience therapy and support.

Why We're Different
We're not your typical therapists. Our team came together because we were tired of seeing teens struggle with traditional therapy that just didn't connect with them.
Whether it's kicking the footy with Joe, going for walks with Will, or working through challenges with Nick's crisis support expertise - we meet teens where they are, doing things they actually want to do.
No BS Approach
We cut through the therapy jargon and meet teens with authenticity they can actually relate to
Movement Works
Footy, walking, physical activities - we know teens open up better when their bodies are engaged
Teen-First Thinking
Everything we do starts with asking "What would actually help this specific young person right now?"
Proven Impact
School reintegrations, confidence building, crisis support - we deliver outcomes that matter
The People Who Make It Happen
Six dedicated professionals who've made it their mission to connect with teens through movement, sport, and genuine understanding.

Jaxsyn Scholes
Founder & Lead Therapist
Driven by a passion for making a real difference in young lives, Jaxsyn founded Shake Counselling in 2021 after seeing too many teens struggle with traditional therapy.
What sets Jaxsyn apart is his ability to connect with even the most reluctant teens through movement, sports, and activities they actually enjoy.
Under Jaxsyn's leadership, Shake has helped dozens of young people get back into school and build the emotional skills they need to thrive.

Will Wright
Lead Counsellor
Will's been with Shake since day one and has this incredible gift for getting through to teens who've completely shut down.
He's got this natural way of making even the most defensive teens feel safe, meeting them where they are with no judgment or pressure.
As a qualified counsellor with years of hands-on experience, Will's become the go-to specialist for teens who couldn't connect with other therapists.

Joe Fama
Youth Counsellor
Joe brings his footy coaching background into therapy, helping teens who need to move and be active while they process their feelings.
His specialty is working with boys aged 13-16 dealing with loss, helping them channel their grief into strength and personal growth.
What makes Joe special is he helps teens build genuine confidence through real achievements, both on the field and in everyday life.

Nick Bourke
Senior Peer Mentor
Nick's been working with neurodivergent teens for over 4 years and has this amazing ability to connect with young people others might find challenging.
When teens are having meltdowns or feeling completely overwhelmed, Nick steps in with calm presence that makes everything feel manageable again.
Nick's brilliant at helping teens understand their own brains and develop practical strategies that actually work for them in real life situations.

Abe Anderson
Transition Support Worker
Abe specialises in helping older teens (18-25) who are neurodivergent make the transition to adult life with systematic, manageable steps.
Whether it's getting a first job, moving out of home, or learning self-advocacy, Abe creates clear pathways that lead to real independence.
What sets Abe apart is his patience and understanding that everyone succeeds at their own pace, with personalised support every step of the way.

Tyler Wilson
Practice Administrator
Tyler runs everything behind the scenes so our team can focus on helping teens, serving as the crucial bridge between families and our services.
Parents love Tyler because they make the whole process feel safe and supported, from that first phone call through to ongoing check-ins.
Tyler's incredible attention to detail ensures nothing gets missed - appointments, NDIS paperwork, and family communications all run seamlessly.
